Personal
As both an alumni and student DJ at the University of South Carolina college radio station, WUSC, for several years, I have connected listeners to dormant emotions, feelings and thoughts. This is a priceless opportunity and a weighty responsibility.
Music is personal. Sharing songs and information about songs and artists for listeners is an honor. To give someone something new, or supply them with information about something they like or believe in is more than an honor.
Time stops for me when I enter the station.
It means an opportunity to broadcast things that others may not have heard. It means an opportunity to remind people of their past, the past of our community or our nation. This personal attachment to songs or music rekindles those times in our life when the influence of music changed us, made us think or brought us love.
